Late August Bloomers

We went “up north” to visit relatives this past week. We stopped at a garden center in their town, looking for a new tree for their place. I wandered around looking at all the lovely flowers at the garden center.

I admired this vining flower hanging on one of the arbors, but had to ask what it was. The garden lady told me “Mandevilla Vine” – then she added “it’s on half price right now”. Sold! This one was so large that the garden center had already added an extension hook to the pot so that it could hang from the arbor. Well, the vine had so entwined the hook that the garden lady said just take it. We got it home and it is now hanging on my arbor.

It’s pink flowers echo the Honeysuckle vine flowers, so it seems to blend right in. There are plenty of buds just waiting to open. I think this will be pretty for at least 8 weeks!

Along the clematis fence, the Sweet Autumn Clematis is ready to pop! Probably tomorrow.

Along the driveway, the Fall Anemones are strutting their stuff.
